The next meeting of ÁIRC (supporting children with disabilities in Mayo) will take place on Tuesday May 15 at 8pm in Breaffy House Hotel.

Students from Mayo, Galway, Dublin, and Dundalk travelled to Castlebar this week to receive their FETAC accredited minor awards in addiction, mental health, and languages from Minister of State Michael Ring in an award ceremony run by the Learning Curve Institute.

If Mayo come out of next Wednesday’s game with a win, they will be in action the following Wednesday night against Roscommon in the Connacht semi-final.

The last time that both these sides met was in the blistering sunshine in Carrick on Shannon in the National Hurling League Division 3B final last April. But despite blitzing their way though the league stages of the competition where they beat Roscommon in Tooreen on the first day of the league Mayo came up short in the final by two points.

The winners of the Mayo Advertiser Christmas Art Competition will be presented with their prizes today (Friday Jan 20) at a presentation in the Breaffy House Hotel.

ÁIRC, which was set up in 2009 is an umbrella organisation set up by parents of children with disabilities in order to support children with disabilities in Mayo through financial and emotional support.

The Carers Association and The Mayo Volunteer Centre are organising a day for carers entitled Appreciating Mayo’s Hidden Treasures: Family Carers. The day is organised for December 5 in Breaffy House Hotel from 11am to 3pm. This day happens is the International Day of the Volunteer.

A psychic holistic fair will take place on Sunday 13 November from 11am to 7pm at Breaffy House Hotel ,Castlebar.
